Its been a couple of months since i quit, i understand the mental dependency that my brain thinks i should smoke but i know i cant. When i smoke in my dreams, the next morning it feels like i just smoked 5 mins ago. such a weird feeling, also, how do you know when you’re lucid dreaming. I can remember my dreams perfectly and i go to different worlds like every 10 minutes it seems like im running through a script
It sounds to me like you have the best of both worlds. If you can enjoy smoking in your dreams without experiencing the harm of actually smoking in real life, more power to you! Better yet, dream smokes are free. Sounds like your subconscious mind has found an very creative way to "have your cake and eat it too."
Actually, dreams like yours may be rare, but they are not unique. The subconscious mind occasionally does provide compensation for things we long for in real life, but cannot have for various reasons. Dreams also provide a context in which to practice risky behavior, such as jumping off a bridge or screaming at parents. The emotional release protects the dreamer from acting out such behaviors in reality where they could be disastrous.
Lucid dreaming is quite different from the vivid dreams that you describe. In lucid dreams, the dreamer is aware that he is dreaming, and can sometimes learn to control the events in the dream. This can be helpful and therapeutic in certain situations, such as with repetitive nightmares. But it is not always healthful, because the subconscious mind has tasks that need to be accomplished without constant interference of the waking mind.
So dream on, and enjoy the virtual smokes.
